Time to Celebrate!

You might ask..."Why is there a picture of wine by candlelight?" I'll tell you why. Today Kobi's Tax ID number and Social Security (letter of approval) arrived! I have been after the Social Security office since January, have filed an extension on my taxes and between all that frustration and stress realized (after my second visit with the Social Security office) that I could have applied for a Tax ID number at the very beginning, then worried about getting Kobi's social. Nice one but hey I've never done this before. SO A TOAST! That's one more check off the post-adoption list:)

KOBI'S STORY

Its finally finished! After many months of playing around with the computer I can say here you go world...Kobi's Story! I unfortunately had to break the video into 2 segments. The first video is the official "Gotcha Day" video. It does have music so turn up the volume. The second video is Kobi's "Welcome to America"! Again this video has sound and I have added a lot of pictures of Kobi! My heart goes out to all you waiting families. I understand how the wait feels and I hope watching the videos will help in some little way. As I waited for Kobi these adoption videos were all I had and it really brought peace to me knowing that this wait will be over soon and that I would have my child. So hang in there waiting families. Someday hopefully real soon Kobi and I will be watching your video:)

Sherry's Thoughts...

It's hard to believe that we held Kobi for the first time 4 months ago. It truly feels like he has been apart of us since day one. This little man brings so much joy to our lives. He has a birthday coming up next month and in honor of his birth mom I would love to send her a gift. We have never met but I think of her everyday. I wonder if the feeling is the same? I need some help in this department. If anyone in "blog land" has some amazing ideas (I mean any...) please leave them in my comments box. I was thinking of composing a book through Shutterfly and that is about how far I have gotten. I am open to anything. I really have know idea how May 16th will be for Kobi's birth mom but I can only imagine it to be a sad day for her. I figure even if she chooses not to accept the gift I still have tried and that I still have made some way to bring peace to her decision. Like I said I am up for any and all comments...Thanks Guys!

Kobi's Brother From Another Mother...

Brady has finally arrived!!! For all of you wondering...no this is not a new addition to our family. Brady's wonderful mama "Lisa" was my Maid of Honor, friend since Elementary School and is now a mama herself! Brady came into the world on May 5th! Her and her dear husband offered support throughout our adoption and are just amazing with Kobi so naturally I had to introduce Kobi to his newest friend right away.

Isn't he so cute??? click here for Brady's Blog

Kobi's old car seat. (That he used for 1 week...my baby sure didn't fit so neatly in that:)

Kobi...GENTLE! (See how I've got a "death grip" on that left arm...)

6 lbs... I could get use to this:)

Is it just me or is Kobi's head the same size as the adults?? (I love Kobi to death but man my back hurts!) NOTE TO SELF: Buy Kobi bigger clothes... again, buy myself Thermal Care Heat Pads!

So a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Eric and Lisa!!! He's so perfect in every way! I cant wait until our kiddo's can play together. Know that I will have bags of clothes ready and be video camera armed at all times:)
*However Eric puts me to shame in that department...you guys will be amazing parents!

The Things That Happen While Mama's Away...

Last Thursday my wonderful sister watched Kobi. Her girls had off of school and he finally got to spend a day with his cool cousins! This is how I'm guessing the day played out...4 wheeling at noon...(I was told that this was only a photo op)Break time in the grass...Lunchtime How do you feed a wiggly baby??? You put him in a laundry basket on the kitchen island. I actually think this idea is pretty funny!

***So thank you Uncle Pete, Auntie Cassie and Auntie Kathy for watching this little handful, taking pictures on my behalf and spending the day with Kobi! I'm sure Kobi cant wait til next time:)

Kobi's Easter Bunny Experience

Where do I start? OK...so Kobi met the Easter Bunny on Tuesday. I was fearful that he may wig out however pleasantly surprised. Yes... we were the 1st ones in line. Yes... we waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for the Easter Bunny to make his appearance, and YES... Kobi did not wig out! YEAH!! He went right to the Easter Bunny smacked his nose and face then snuggled is his lap. Then threw his arms up in down in the air with joy over how he thought hitting the Easter Bunny was hysterical. I of course being the well mannered mama simply let him hit the Easter Bunny because that bunny took 1 hour and 45 minutes of my time and quite frankly I wanted to hit him too!!! Needless to say the "bunny staff" couldn't make it to work on time. So here you go folks Kobi's 1st picture with the Easter Bunny:)
