Half A World Away...

Just a couple months ago these adorable babies were living out their days in Feng-Yuan Taiwan. They were both adopted through TWCA and New Hope (since closed). All I can say is who ever thought they would travel a half a world away and find their forever families living right down the road from each other?

Kobi's 1st experience sharing toys... and hats!

Kobi would not stay still for any pictures. See Matthew's death grip on those arms? However Rachel was as cute as can be:) Isn't Rachel beautiful???
*On Sunday we had a gathering at our home for all the Taiwanese adoptive parents that live in our area (somewhat...I should say :) So far the only children home are Rachel and Kobi but it was nice to meet everyone and hear their adoption time lines. Almost everyone that came I have met online through Taiwan Adoption Groups and it was so nice to put names to faces. I hope you all had a good time and Kobi and I are looking forward to meeting your future Taiwanese kiddo's! Thanks for partying with us:)

Kobi Turn's 1 (The Movie)

OK guys...yet another home movie! I must say that throughout the adoption community I have met some wonderful people. Kobi and I had the great opportunity to attend a Birthday party a couple weeks ago for another Taichung beauty. She also just turned 1! At this party her mama taught us about the Zhua Zhou tradition. For all of you not familiar this is how it goes... At a child's 1st Birthday they are placed in front of what appears to be a million objects. Whichever object the child picks up and plays with has a significant meaning and that is what the child will grow up to become. I thought it was a lovely tradition and I wanted to do this with Kobi on his 1st Birthday. So thank you Sue! For giving me a list of objects, along with meanings and teaching me of this.

I hope you all enjoy watching Kobi's day and for all you waiting families Kobi blew out his 1 candle and made a wish...That your referrals are on their way and you will be holding your babies in no time:)

One Year Ago...

So it's the start of "Kobi's Birthday Week"! We kicked it off on Mother's Day and will continue festivities til next Sunday:) I have to say that I feel bad for daddy who shares a Birthday week with Kobi. Poor daddy. It's neat that they share a birthday 5 days apart but from now on Matthew gets to blow out Birthday candles with a helper. Its hard to believe that a year ago my son was born in Taiwan, that a year ago we started our adoption journey and that a year ago I was dreaming of becoming a mama. Today I was thinking a lot about Su-O and I can not imagine how she must be feeling right now. I can only hope that she receives our photo's and video's we send of Kobi, that they are not sitting in a box somewhere. That she is wearing the neckless and bracelet we've sent remembering this amazing child she has brought into this world. As I watched my son dig into his cake I was thinking of her. As I watched my niece help Kobi blowout his 1st candle I made a wish that she was succeeding in life and feeling OK with the decision she had made for him. I can only imagine my son growing older and wishing for the same thing at every Birthday until hopefully the day he meets her again.

So Happy Birthday Babies and man I'm glad I'm the one who gets to share them with you!Mother's Day 2007!

Grandpa...WHY??

Like Kobi doesn't have a million things to play with at Grandpa and Grandma's house. All I can say is Grandpa started this game. Kobi would hit him with the spatula to move faster like he was a horse! Poor, poor Grandpa...but he put this on himself. (Oh and if your wondering Grandma was the one who gave him the spatula ...)
Then when daddy got home he feel victim also.(Minus the cooking utensils...)
and because of all that peer pressure...lets just say now my back hurts:)

A Vision in Green

Grandma bought me my first vest with matching argyle socks! I tried to get a million happy pictures of Kobi in his green vest but he wasn't having it. All he wanted to do was go to the swings! Mama I'm not gonna look at the camera. I think the swings are that way!!Only Grandma would buy socks like that:)I always love Kobi's "Sleep Shots"! These were just two from yesterday. (Look at those little plump lips:)

Kobi Loves the Swing!

Kobi cant get enough of the swings! He loves them! We try to visit them as much as possible these days. Here is video from Wednesday night. So that the whole world is not bored of Kobi playing on the swing I have added music and words. So turn on those speakers and sing along:)
