One Exciting Week!!

Here is us on December 13th ready and set for travel. I cant believe everything fits into four suitcases. Way to go mama!! Oh and I love my velour jumpsuit, so comfy!

This is the line to board at LAX. So Long! We did have some unexpected storms and could not take a direct flight to Taipei. Just one quick stop in Alaska...yes I did say Alaska...and we were on our way to Taiwan. Add an extra four hours to a flight that's already ten and put us in economy class for all that time, "Why not?" We really did not have an option with such short notice but I must say that Eva Air was great! You just don't get service like what we got on a usual "American" flight! Did I say it was a long flight??? My butt hurts just thinking about it.

Finally we arrive at the hotel on December 15th. Yeah! Thanks to the recommendation of another "Taiwan Adoptive Parent" we stayed at the Agora. This place had everything! This huge tree was in the entry and everything was in beautiful marble and columns. It had restaurants, indoor pool, waterfall and a spa. (SPA...Need I say more??)

National Palace Museum

Right after we checked into the hotel we went to the National Palace Museum (I really wanted to check out the Spa...) and got to see how driving in Taipei was like first hand. To sum it up I would say its similar to New York City, minus the bike messengers, add in scooters, minus road rage. Basically no one follows basic traffic patterns. Example...If you want to make a left hand turn from the right hand lane then go ahead, just watch for the scooters and inch your way across traffic. CRAZY! We did make it to the National Palace Museum however and the place had beautiful architecture! I tried to take pictures of some of the amazing Chinese artifacts but a little man waving a sign that read, "No Pictures, No Video" made me put my camera away. Sorry guys... I tried. Some of the stuff I saw in the museum was two story Buddha's, intricate jade designs and cool scrolls. Everything had a date on it and some of the stuff was BC. I just thought to myself my ancestor's were probably learning about fire at the same time some Chinese man was making knives out of jade with dragon handle and all. Again Crazy!

Today (December 15th) Matthew and I had planned on seeing Yehlin Beach. However because of the rain we were taken to the museum. (So sad we missed the beach, it was one of the main places in Taiwan we wanted to see but I think we did get some cool photo's of the museum.)
